Dylan Indigo
Role: Protagonist
Age: 28
Sex: Male
Affiliations: Paramystic. The Guardian.
Powers: None
History:
Dylan was always a casual, lighthearted, yet strong and protective person. All his life he enjoyed doting on his younger sister, Vivian. He was never the least bit jealous of her inherited powers. In fact, he was actually glad he wasn't born with such abilities. He saw them as much of a curse as a blessing from all the bullying his sister got in school.
Whenever someone threatened or teased his Vivian, he never hesitated to defend her or confront her bully. Unfortunately, since they were in different grades, it was difficult to be by her side often.
Growing up, Dylan found passions in four things: computers, video games, wrestling, and baseball. He played baseball all through elementary school and middle school, but stopped in high school when he gained an interest in video games and computers. He still plays casually in urban areas with locals. Eventually, he took interest in wresting and joined that team in his junior year.
During this time, he gained quite a reputation for being a strong person. Physically and emotionally. This attracted the attention of several thugs from DC. In particular, a notorious Haterist named Kane Burns. Kane made many attempts to corner Dylan when he was alone on the streets, but Dylan knew the layout of his county better than most people. All his attempts failed for years.
However, by stalking him for long enough, Kane learned of his friendship with a group of local liminals. This enraged him. In order to finally make his presence known, Kane attempted to kidnap Vivian, but because of her liminal powers, she escaped. When she told Dylan of this, he set off to find her attempted abductor.
The two young men finally met in an empty parking lot outside a fast-food restaurant. It was there they began to brutally fight. Dylan was winning the battle, but Kane suddenly pulled out a large knife. After cutting Dylan on the arm, Kane was suddenly restrained by bright orange strings of light. AJ, Vivian's friend, had stepped in with his liminal powers.
Angelo then charged in and tazed Kane with his electric jolt. Vivian was about to toss him away with her psychokinesis, but Dylan stopped her before she could. With AJ still restraining his opponent, Dylan got in Kane's face and called him a coward and a weakling for having to cheat with weaponry. He then put him in a sleeper hold and knocked him out.
Little did they all know, social worker and DJ Johnny Smith, who was known throughout the underground world as an immensely powerful liminal, was watching this all unfold.
When Johnny recruited Vivian and her friends to form the Paramystics, he asked Dylan to join too, despite him not being a liminal. Dylan agreed instantly, wanting to continue to support and protect his sister.
Armed with three weapons enchanted by his sister: a baseball bat, a pair of brass knuckles, and a belt, he is capable of taking on liminals. Due to his pride as an ordinary person, though, he refuses to use these weapons unless absolutely necessary.
His main role in the group is to devise the most complex plans of action, manage their internet stardom, capture their battles on film, and provide any help when needed. All the while he continues to face the wrath of a very vengeful Kane Burns.
Powers and abilities:
Though Dylan is not a liminal, thanks to his impressive fitness, intelligence, and enchanted items, he is more than worthy of being a member of his sister's band of liminal vigilantes.
His reflexes from baseball and subduing skills as a wrestler make him the perfect person for one-on-one fights. He is also very smart and can understand nearly any software or computer system quickly. He also has skills in urban athleticism and can perform some impressive parkour.
Dylan's three enchanted items give him enough power to face a liminal or large groups of people. His baseball bat, known as the rocket bat, is capable of launching anything it hits like a catapult. a 200 pound man can soar three stories high if hit with it full force. His brass knuckles fire massive shockwaves that can blast back everything within 100 yards. They are also strong enough to crack sidewalks. His belt has four different colored steel studs that help him gain immunity to elements. The red stud protects against fire, the blue one ice, the white one electricity, and the green one air. The buckle in the center defends against aether, but not completely. Only about a third of the magical force can harm Dylan while armed with it.
Like all the members of the Paramystics, Dylan wears a healing necklace that can quickly heal potentially fatal injuries. Even though he is not a liminal and has no special endurance to injuries, the necklace is just as effective in saving him from serious wounds.
Personality:
Most of the time, Dylan is the most levelheaded and mature of the Paramystics. He generally keeps his cool and rarely loses control of his emotions. Though he is physically the strongest of his friends, he dislikes confrontation and prefers not to fight unless he must defend his friends, his sister, or the innocent. This does not mean he cannot potentially break free of that hesitation and fight if he really, really wants to. He always has a good reason, though.
He hates staying idle for too long and likes going out to have a good time. Adventure is one of his favorite thrills. Going on trips to so many different places with Johnny's help is always his top favorite pastime.
Dylan is a very friendly person and cares deeply for his loved ones. His mature nature helps him comfort his friends when they're doubtful, anxious, and sad. Always looking on a realistic bright side when things look dark.
Extras:
Dylan is 6'2. The tallest of his friends.
He is straight but has no interest in dating anyone.
His favorite food is anything with olive oil.
Dylan has a peculiar fondness for things made of metal and likes to collect and sell scraps he finds during his travels with the Paramystics.
