Hector Howlost

Role: Black Mane. Antagonist

Age: 18

Species: Grey Wolf

Likes: Tight, crowded spaces, good clothes, money.

Dislikes: Vegetables, herbivores.

Dream Job: Leader of the Black Manes.

Skills: Combat, endurance, claws.

Personality:

Usually calm and quiet, unless an enemy threatens his pride or his gang, Hector keeps to the shadows and strikes when others least expect it.

However, he can be very loud and assertive when he needs or desires to be. Though his hatred for inferior species runs deep, he appears to have those beliefs mostly out of loyalty for the gang he would never consider questioning or betraying.

Frustration is a common emotion he feels. Being one of the youngest members of the Black Manes, he is rarely acknowledged by higher ups no matter how strong he is. Still, he is always determined to prove his worth however he can.

Story:

Hector has a stereotypical criminal background. His father was a volatile, aggressive bobcat man obsessed with weapons, and his mother was a timid, fragile wolf woman who could barely protect her son from her husband's toxic influence. Hector also had two older brothers. He constantly was stuck in their overachieving shadows, though he still got plenty of attention from his parents. What he truly desired was his brothers' love, though. To Hector, his older brothers were his heroes, but they never seemed to care for him much. The two of them constantly ignored him his entire childhood.

In school, Hector would brag to his classmates about how cool his brothers were. Sadly, this would prove to be a mistake, as this resulted in his brothers bullying him. Over time, his admiration for them turned into resentment. When he reached the age of 16, he began fighting with them physically. Often causing chaos in his home. One day, Hector smashed his eldest brother in the face with his dad's war club. The attack severely injured the brother. After the ambulance took him away, Hector's father punished him by whipping his back with a long, straw rope. His mother and second brother watched in horror, silent and too afraid to intervene.

Outraged by his family, Hector decided to run away from home. Merely hours walking the streets of Lotebirma, he was spotted by Black Mane members and mistaken as one of them for his black hair and blue clothing. Deciding not to correct them, he was led to the hideout of the notorious gang.

Howard Fangstrong, the criminal group's leader, immediately spotted Hector and demanded he identify himself. Summoning all his strength, the now 17 year old wolf teen proclaimed his desire to join the strongest clan in all of Lotebirma. To his surprise, his determined speech was met with rowdy applause. The Black Manes welcomed him with open arms.

Sadly, the positive treatment did not last, as because of his young age, the other members looked down on him. Still, Hector remains unquestionably loyal to the Black Manes and is willing to do anything to prove his worthiness to them.

Or is he?

Skills:

Hector has always been a fighter. His father had trained him and his brothers in many hand to hand combat techniques, though they were crude and required little skill. Despite being younger than nearly all the other Black Manes, he is one of the best fighters.

Since his father was a bobcat, his claws are sharper, and his hearing is better than a normal wolf hybreed.

Besides his physical strength, Hector's loyalty and stubbornness make him strong mentally as well. Albeit in an unhealthy,  toxic way. His beliefs in power over those deemed inferior may sound strong in his words and actions, deep down, his insecurities for his age and place in the Black Manes threaten to weaken him at any moment if he is not careful.

Extras:

Hector hates vegetables with a passion, and everything that eats them. As a carnivore, he does not need to eat vegetables, but becomes sick at the very thought of consuming them. This is one of the reasons why he despises Alan so much.
