Story Summary:
Unlike most of the people of Edona, Shatar's parents were lured by the city's luxuries and left their poor home to stay there. His mother was pregnant at the time, and when she had Shatar months later, he was taken to be spirit sapped. As the years passed, Shatar's parents were subjected to the spirit sapping process and left emotionless shells of their former selves. As Shatar grew up, he proved to be slightly resistant to the spirit sapping due to his stubborn spirit and love of fighting. The citizens figured his once free spirited parents were influencing him.
In an attempt to break his will, the people of Edona sacrificed his parents to the Terrazar and lied to him saying they escaped and left him behind. Instead of being lost in greif, Shatar became angry.
Shatar channeled his newfound rage into his lightning element and combat. The only thing was, he had no way to use his skills. Edona was so peaceful there was no need to fight. He was not willing to leave, though. After all he had been told of the outside of the city he was not willing to risk a worse life full of endless hardships.
One day, an incredibly powerful sorceress arrived in Edona and promised the people power, peace, and a better future. She became known as the Terramistress. Entranced by her strength, Shatar submitted to her will and became a lead soldier in an army meant to capture and lure freelanders to Edona. This army became known as the Bestowers. Now with a way to unleash his powers, Shatar has everything he could ever have wanted.
Still, deep down, he is curious about the future the Terramistress had promised.
Powers and abilities:
Shatar's element is white lightning. He is by far one of the strongest in elemental power of the Bestowers. Though he knows no special attacks, he makes up for it in sheer force of strength. His bolts can break solid rock and his surges can paralyze with ease. Still, against stronger opponents, his element may not be as effective as his usual foes. Those with impressive toughness can fight against the paralysis of his lightning.
Shatar's physical strength is slightly above the average naturman. Not incredibly powerful, but stronger than many. This is due to his light eating from avoiding the terrazar's traps for so long.
Shatar wields two lightning shaped short swords. With these, he can block opponent's attacks and focus his lightning element's aim. They are not effective for stabbing, but excellent at slashing.
Personality:
Shatar is not like most Bestowers. Though he often displays emotionless behavior, deep down he has feelings. His stubborn and slightly agitated nature has made him somewhat resistant to spirit sapping. As a result, he displays more emotion than normal. Especially in battle.
Shatar is cold, uncaring, and hates his enemies. All he seems to care about is his duty as a Bestower and fighting. Survival is his top priority. Happiness is not a desire for him as he believes it is impossible.
Despite all this, Shatar appears to have a kinship with Despasia and Riskond, believing them to be valuable partners. Though he is proud of his strength, Shatar is willing to have allies in battle. Though he denies feeling friendship for them, he would be upset if anything bad happened to them.
Other info:
Shatar's facial tattoo was a gift from Riskond. To this day he still does not know how the blind warlock managed to create such a thing.
Shatar's father was a zephyrman and his mother was a naturman. He inherited his element from his grandfather, who was a dragonman.
