Physical Features:

Tail

Synapsian tails are sleek, slender, and elegant like iguanas. Despite their thinness, they are remarkably strong and can lift small objects. They are very flexible and can nearly tie in knots. The tails are completely covered in scales. A small percentage of synapsians have tails that split into two or three separate tails.

Legs and Feet

A synapsian's feet are their most distinguishing feature. They are reptile-like with three toes, long claws, and stand on their tips rather than their sole. This requires synapsians to stand with slightly bent legs much like dinosaurs. Their legs are flesh from the thigh to the knee, and scales from slightly below the knee to the feet.

Hands

Like their legs, synapsian arms are half flesh half scales starting from the shoulder. Their claws are stronger than a volcanion's, but don't grow as long.

Eyes

The eyes of a synapsian are considered bright and beautiful. The colors are incredibly vibrant. This is likely due to their powerful eyesight.

Body

Synapsian bodies are part flesh part scales. Their bodies and heads are skin, while their arms, legs, and tail are covered in scales. Their skin can be a range of brown, tan, black, grey, white, pink, and peach. Their scales come in nearly all colors imaginable, but are humble, muted hues.

Elements:

Common: Earth, lightning, ice.
Uncommon: Magic, Hypnosis, Fire.

Facts:

According to natural history studies, synapsians were the very first race of beings to fully evolve and develop intelligence. They are well known for their historical accomplishments in the stone age. Sadly, due to these historical origins, synapsians are sometimes considered 'primitive.'

Synapsians prefer lives close to nature and build their towns and cities in or around forests, deserts, swamps, mountains, and other unconventional places. They are well known for building structures within natural parts of environments such as trees, cliffs, sandstone, and cacti. Some even create entire cities in caves or underground.

Due to their tendency to live in strange places where cities and towns would not normally be, synapsians rarely encountered other races in the past. However, in dark ages of history, there were raids on synapsian homes and many were captured, forced into slavery. However, the synapsians refused to let the suffering of their race continue, and they sent armies to attack all places that held synapsian slaves, freeing slaves of other races in the process. For this reason, some countries view synapsians as a heroic race. In modern days, synapsians are still rarely encountered by other races, but the tension between them has died down.

Synapsians can live in virtually any environment except the arctic. They are capable of enduring the harshest of environments. Their bodies are incredibly resistant to heat, dryness, and humidity. They can go for about a week without water. They also have strong stomachs and can eat a wide variety of plants and meat other races cannot. Sometimes they do not even have to cook it. Synapsians are also highly resistant to diseases, illnesses, venom, and parasites.

When it comes to physical strength, synapsians are most well known for their speed and swiftness. Their agile legs and large, reptilian feet make them the fastest running race. They can also leap their own body height and make sharp, sudden turns while sprinting. Synapsians are also capable of holding their breath for an hour and are good swimmers.

Synapsians are the only species in all of Lorstar that is half mammal half reptile. To this day it is unknown what creature was the evolutionary origin of their strange lineage. Some believe it was a dinosaur, primate hybrid. Others speculate it was simply a differently evolved reptile that slowly developed mammal-like characteristics. The mystery of the synapsian's evolutionary origins are unknown to this day, but archeologists have not given up on the search to finding the lost answers.
