Fins

Like all underwater beings of Lorstar, merfolk have ear fins that help enhance their hearing and keep them from becoming dizzy when making dramatic maneuvers while swimming.

Tail

The most prominent feature of all merfolk is their marine tail in place of legs. This makes them the most skilled and powerful swimmers of all the races, but leave them incapable of walking on land. Whale-shaped, scaly tails are the most common variant of merfolk lower bodies, but there are also octopus, jellyfish, eel, shark, stingray, and even sea snake merfolk.

Merfolk are known throughout the world as gentle, kind, and healing beings. Except the ones of the Questaric, who are known to be dangerously hateful and power-hungry.

Merfolk who sing on dry land to playfully lure people towards them are often called sirens. Unlike the sirens of our mythology, these merfolk do no hurt the people they sing to. They merely enjoy attracting and audience or potential companion.

Female merfolk are called mermaids and male merfolk are called mermen.

Merfolk are able to endure hot and cold temperatures, allowing them to wear revealing clothes all year round. Most mermen actually do not wear clothes and leave their chests exposed.

Merfolk do have genitals, but they are hidden in special ways. Mermen tuck their genitals inside their bodies and mermaid's are not noticeable unless they spread them.
